1970 Bobby Orr scored a goal and 3 assists, and Phil Esposito had 3 assists, including his 500th NHL point in a 6-0 Bruins' win over the Rangers, at Boston Garden. Eddie Johnston got the shutout, as the Bruins improved their season record to 6-1-1.

1973 Boston's Ross Brooks recorded the second shutout of his rookie season as the Bruins beat the North Stars 5-0, at Minnesota.

1972 Boston rookie Gregg Sheppard's first NHL hat trick led the Bruins to a 9-1 win over the expansion N.Y. Islanders.

1985 Ken Linseman scored a goal and added three assists as the Bruins won 6-4, at New Jersey.

1992 Adam Oates scored his first career hat trick, and added an assist, and Vladimir Ruzicka had two goals and three assists to lead the Bruins to an 8-3 win against the Kings, at Boston Garden.

1955 Boston's Terry Sawchuk recorded his 60th career shutout in the Bruins' 1-0 win over the NY Rangers.

1972 Terry O'Reilly scored a goal and added three assists in a 9-1 Bruins' win over the Islanders, at Boston Garden.

1991 Winnipeg Jets traded Brent Ashton to Boston, in exchange for Petri Skriko. It marked the eighth NHL team in Ashton's 13 year career.

1951 Goaltender Jim Henry recorded his 5th career shutout (and his first with Boston) in the Bruins' 2-0 win over the Black Hawks at Chicago.

2003 Felix Potvin recorded his 29th career shutout (his first with Boston) in the Bruins 2-0 win against the Canadiens at Montreal.

1998 - The Bruins score five power play goals in a 9-2 win in Montreal. Three of the power play goals came in a 0:51 span of the second period (9:09, 9:34, 10:00).

1999 - Dave Andreychuk ties a Boston club record with four goals in a 7-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

2001 - The Bruins score twice in 18 seconds to rally for a 3-3 tie at the Chicago Blackhawks. Bill Guerin scores at 19:41 of the third period to close the score to 3-2 and Joe Thornton ties the game at 19:59 of the third period

1974 Boston's Phil Esposito scored twice to become the second player in franchise history to score 400 goals as a member of the Bruins. The milestone goals (along with an assist) came in an 8-2 win against the visiting Kansas City Scouts.

1999 - Mike Keenan coaches his first game behind the Boston bench as the Bruins defeat the Washington Capitals by a 4-1 score

1945 - Milt Schmidt plays his first game since returning from RCAF duty in a 5-4 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

2002 -The Bruins honor Terry O'Reilly in a pre-game ceremony as his #24 by raising his #24 to the FleetCenter rafters. The Bruins tie the Ottawa Senators, 2-2, in that night's game.

2005 - The Bruins lose the first shootout in their history by a 5-4 score at the Toronto Maple Leafs, despite 53 shots on goal.

1984 L.A. Kings traded left wing Charlie Simmer to Boston for a 1986 1st round draft choice (which the Kings used to select left wing Dan Gratton).

1978 Don Marcotte scored a goal and added three assists to lead the Bruins to a 7-2 win over the Blues at St. Louis.

1982 - Normand Leveille suffers a cerebral hemorrhage in the dressing room during the first intermission of a game in Vancouver

1999 Boston's rookie goalie John Grahame picked up his first NHL victory as the Bruins ended their season-opening nine-game winless streak (0-5-4) with a 3-1 victory at San Jose.
