 Geoff Courtnall Forbes Kennedy was born in Dorchester, N. B. Kennedy played in the NHL 1956-57 through 1968-69 with Chicago, Detroit, Boston, Philadelphia and Toronto.
Geoff Courtnall was born in Victoria, British Columbia. Courtnall played in the NHL 1983-84 thru 1999-2000 with Boston, Edmonton, Washington, Vancouver, and St. Louis.  In 1983 the Bruins signed free agent defenseman Guy Lapointe, a 5-time Stanley Cup winner.
In 1958 Former NHL center Craig MacTavish born in London, Ont. MacTavish, the final NHL player without a helmet, appeared in the league 1979-80 thru 1996-97 with Boston, Edmonton, the New York Rangers, Philadelphia, and St. Louis. In 1949 Ivan Boldirev born in Zranjanin, Yugoslavia. Boldirev played in the NHL 1970-71 through 1984-85 with Boston, Oakland, Chicago, Atlanta, Vancouver and Detroit. 
Hard-shooting Dick Redmond was born on this date in 1949 in Kirkland Lake Ontario
 Hockey Hall of Famer Leo Boivin was born on Aug 2 1932 in Prescott, ON.
Best known for his devastating hip checks, Boivin patrolled the B's blueline from 1954 to 1966. |
