For the past 14 years, Why Me & Sherry’s House has had the privilege of partnering with the Boston Bruins Alumni Organization. Over this time, we have raised over $300,000 to support families with children battling cancer. These games have created unforgettable memories for our community and families, memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Working alongside the Boston Bruins Alumni has been an absolute pleasure. From the players to the staff, everyone has gone above and beyond to make our Why Me children feel truly special. From including them in the reading of the lineups to taking photos, signing autographs, and even participating in the puck drop – the Bruins Alumni create an atmosphere of kindness and joy that our families will never forget.
The recognition and support of the Boston Bruins name have not only brought our community together to celebrate the sport of hockey, but they have also raised critical awareness about childhood cancer and the needs of the families navigating these difficult journeys.
We cannot thank the Boston Bruins Alumni Organization enough for your unwavering support. Your dedication to helping so many nonprofits each season is inspiring. We look forward to continuing this amazing partnership and making even more memories together in the years to come.
With heartfelt gratitude,

We truly can’t thank the Bruins Alumni Association enough for their unrivaled support of the Down syndrome community in Massachusetts over the past 20 years. Their dedication has empowered individuals with Down syndrome to lead meaningful inclusive lives through opportunities in education, recreation, employment and leadership development.
Through the annual MDSC Boston Bruins Alumni Hockey Benefit Game and other support from the Bruins Foundation, the Bruins Partnership has raised well over $2,000,000 to support the critical programs and services of the MDSC!
As MDSC Honorary Board member and co-founder of the MDSC-Bruins Alumni Hockey Game, Charlie Gadbois, once said, “What’s so special about the Bruins Alumni players across the board is that they aren’t just guys playing a charity hockey game for fun. They genuinely and profoundly care about the individuals with Down syndrome they are playing for.”
Congratulations on the Bruins Centennial Year and thank you for all you do for the MDSC and so many other charities!

Since Partnering with the Boston Bruins Alumni Team in 2011, there have been countless memories made and lives changed. Teaming up with my college friend Chef/ Owner Gregg Brackman (of G Bar and Kitchen in Swampscott), we have cohosted 11 Boston Bruins Alumni games for the Boys & Gilrs Clubs and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute raising over $350,000. More recently our games have supported Dana-Faber Cancer Institute.
The Bruins Alumni Partnership is critical in bringing the community together to support these great causes. Having recently run 8 Boston Marathons for the Dana-Farber Marathon Challange Team, we see where the critical funds raised from our games make a direct impact in cancer research! The Boston Bruins Alumni support and brand recognition helps us maximize awareness for the need to support this great cause.
The G Bar Goodguys while teaming up with the Boston Bruins Alumni Team, together we are heading to the ultimate finish line, a world without cancer!
Sincerely,
Randy Suckney

"From just months after the inception of our program in 2019, The Boston Bruins Alumni have provided us the opportunity to fundraise and grow a special needs hockey program which offers as much if not more than any youth hockey program out there.
In the non-profit world, sustainability is the key. Our annual Bruins fundraisers not only allow us to pack a Sept-May season with weekly practices, out-of-state travel for games and tournaments, high-quality uniforms and equipment, an annual bowling/pizza/awards ceremony and more, it allows us to build a contingency fund so that our program will survive for eternity and our players can grow old together.
We just completed our sixth Alumni Classic and our players, coaches and fans could not have had more fun and enjoyment. Our program is so fortunate to have the very exciting Boston Bruins stars come to our Classic. We get to play alongside the very legends we cheered on for years and they leave us with memories - including autographs and pictures to last a lifetime."

2025 was our, Voices of Hope’s, first event partnering with the Boston Bruins Alumni Team and it won’t be our last! As a small non-profit who raises funds for cancer research through the Arts we have held many large-scale events but were novices at working with sporting events. Teaming up with the Chelmsford and Westford Police Departments the Bruins helped us create one of the largest fund raisers of the year!
The Bruins Alumni Partnership plays a pivotal role in uniting the community to lend their support to organizations such as ours. Due to this relationship, we will be able to increase our annual donation to the Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at the end of this year due to incredible work and support by all involved!
As our tag line says we are Making Cancer History One Song at a Time and now we can add One Goal at a Time!

I just wanted to reach out and once again thank the entire Boston Bruins Alumni Organization for all your help and assistance with our most recent fund raising event for My Breast Cancer on March 16th 2024.
The professionalism and pride your organization brings to these events makes them all worthwhile. Please pass on our thanks to each of the players and staff who took the time throughout the day to interact with our group and especially the fans who attended. Their selfless dedication and commitment to be ambassadors not only for the Boston Bruin
Organization and the game of hockey, but also for the fans of New England is unsurpassed. Through five years of our organizations working together you have helped us raise over $16,000 for the local non-profit organizations in our community of Dover New Hampshire. The officers, Veterans and their families salute you, all of the players, the Boston Bruins Alumni Organization and the Boston Bruins Foundation and thank you all for the hard work, effort and
time you give back to all the communities and organizations throughout the New England region.
Best wishes for continues success as you wind down your 2024 Centennial year celebrations and scheduled events. We look forward to our next opportunity to host the Boston Bruins Alumni.

On behalf of everyone involved I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Boston Bruins Alumni Association for participating in our most recent fundraising hockey game that was in support of the reconstruction efforts at Pop Whalen Ice and Arts Center.
The buzz in the community was undeniable leading up to the event. Our new venue was put to the test as people packed in bringing the new facility up to capacity for the first time. Given the attendance and hype surrounding the game, it is quite evident that the support of the Bruins nation runs deep in our community.
This has truly been one of the best fundraising platforms to date and hands down the most memorable. The game brought in a hefty $70K total towards our end goal of $250K. This Alumni game was the perfect kickoff event for our new venue and the community can’t wait to get the team back next year.
Sincerely,
Friends of Pop Whalen and Friends of Kingswood Hockey
Our organization (Melrose Youth Hockey) ran our first Boston Bruins Alumni game this season (23-24) and with this being our first event like this we had a lot of questions. The Boston Bruins Alumni staff was incredibly helpful in answering our questions and getting the game set up. They were responsive and professional every step of the way!
The Boston Bruins Alumni team is the biggest and most active Alumni team in hockey and it’s easy to see why - they made the game fun for the whole family with a professional game day operations staff including; announcer, photographers, videographers, raffles, autograph and photo opportunities, auctions, etc all of which made us feel like we were the pros!
The game was fun and competitive and really showcased how awesome the hockey community truly is. Our event got people talking within our broader community and at the end of the day raised a lot of money for our hockey program - none of it would’ve been possible without the Boston Bruins Alumni team. I could not recommend them strong enough!
