1952 Goaltender Sugar Jim Henry recorded his 13th career shutout to lead the Bruins to a 2-0 win over the Red Wings in Boston.
1945 Former NHL defenseman Darryl Edestrand born in Strathroy, Ont. Edestrand played in the NHL 1967-68 through 1978-79 with St. Louis, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston and Los Angeles. 1951 Detroit goalie Terry Sawchuk and Bruins' Jim Henry dueled to a 0-0 scoreless tie, in a game played at Boston. It was the 15th career shutout for Sawchuk and the 6th for Henry. 1946 Boston tied Detroit 3-3 in a penalty-free game played in Detroit. There were none called against either team for the entire game. It was the first penalty free game in Bruins' history. 1968 Boston rookie Wayne Cashman scored the first goal of his NHL career, and Bobby Orr added three assists, in a 7-1 Bruins' win over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers. 1960 Goalie Don Simmons recorded his 15th career shutout as the Bruins won 4-0 over Chicago in Boston.
