1991 Boston's Vladimir Ruzicka scored his first career NHL hat trick and Andy Brickley had a goal and three assists as the Bruins tied 5-5 at Pittsburgh.
1981 Bruin goalie Rogie Vachon extended his unbeaten streak to 5-0-3 with a 2-1 win over Vancouver, at Boston Garden. Peter McNab led the scoring with a goal and an assist in the first period.
1986 Boston fired coach Butch Goring immediately after an 8-3 loss in Buffalo. He was replaced by former Bruin Terry O'Reilly.
