1990 Boston's Reggie Lemelin recorded his 12th (and final) career shutout as the Bruins extended their home undefeated streak against the Quebec Nordiques to 13 straight games (11-0-2) with a 6-0 win at Boston Garden.
1928 Boston rookie Tiny Thompson became the third goaltender in NHL history to record a shutout in his first career game, when the Bruins won 1-0 at Pittsburgh. Dit Clapper scored the only goal of the game. 1986 Boston's Rick Middleton reached his 900th career point with a third period assist as the Bruins tied 5-5 with the Devils. Middleton became the 27th player in NHL history to get 900 career points. 1938 Boston extended their overtime undefeated streak to 37 straight games (10-0-27) with a 1-1 tie against Toronto. The 37 game streak, which began in December 1934, is the longest in NHL history. 2000 Boston Bruins obtained Bill Guerin from the Edmonton Oilers, in exchange for Anson Carter and two future draft choices. 1927 Boston's Dit Clapper scored his first NHL goal in the Bruins season opener, a 1-1 tie against the Chicago Black Hawks. 1973 Boston's Bobby Orr had three power play goals and added four assists to become the first NHL defenseman to score seven points in one game, as the Bruins beat the New York Rangers 10-2.
