John Horrigan: “John Horrigan with Jay Miller, Boston Bruins Alumni. The Boston Bruins Alumni Golf Tournament wouldn't be a go if it weren't for the love of this guy, and his lovely wife. Jay, thank you so much for all the years sponsoring the Boston Bruins Alumni for the golf tournament”. Jay Miller: “Yeah you mean you know what, I, I do it because I wanna see all the guys get back together and tell stories without hitting honors, without fans and this way they get to go out, have fun, tell some stories, have a couple of beers and now im getting the coach and Waggs, and all these guys like Tuukka, it's a lot of fun to see these guys get back. Bobby came last year, Derek came last year, it's fun to get the guys. It was funny, I talked to Rick Middleton a long time ago on a long bus ride to New Brunswick, I think you were on it, I said we gotta do something more than going on Alumni sh**, we gotta do something alone, not the training camp, nothing, something outside, so, I have the resources, I’ve been very lucky in my life and I have a lot of fun seeing the guys but I wish I could play golf, I just had a knee replacement surgery so…” John Horrigan: “Oooo, How's it going?” Jay Miller: “It hurts but it's good…” John Horrigan: “How many weeks out?” Jay Miller: “12, but my shoes, they were given to me as a present, pretty cool huh?” John Horrigan: “Wow I like em, ooo I love em, yeah absolutely”. Jay Miller: “But yeah to get the guys back together and I’ve always said, I’ve told you this before, one shift, you're a Bruin Alumni and I believe in that and I believe in that one, you know, even just one game and you’re always alumni, you're always a Bruin. There's only so many of us and it's nice, I wish we got more back but uh they see the guys are retiring and coming and doing it so they hear about it through the ranks and it's fun. Cam was gonna come but I guess he’s looking for a coach”. *Both Horrigan and Miller Laugh* “Johnny was looking for a coach but funny that I put coach, and Waggs and Tuukka together, that was fun”. John Horrigan: “Yeah Absolutely”. Jay Miller: “Like they don't see enough of each other”. John Horrigan: “Exactly but they feel comfortable and the known comradery”. Jay Miller: “You know what, It's a sport and guess what, it's a business, you know, I don't care I hated, excuse me I shouldn't say hate, I disliked Terry O’Reilly my whole 3 years I played for him but I learned more from him than any coach but I couldn't stand him, I said I'm never gonna be like you Terry, I'll never be like you, I can never play like you, Im my own guy and ever since then we’ve been best friends for life so. All these guys you know you're always gonna be best friends”. John Horrigan: “Cool Cool. Thank you so much Jay Miller for all you do and the Courtyard Restaurant which is post match”. Jay Miller: “Yes that's where we have the fun and tell some stories”. Video and transcript by Casey Holland
