Griffin Bouchard adding some fun to his fundraisers. The Hamilton hockey player and Miles River School sixth grader organized a holiday skate at the Pingree Rink, Dec. 26. The hour-long fundraiser raised $1,500, with all the proceeds going to Boston Children's Hospital's Concussion Prevention Research Center.“The skate went better than I expected,” Bouchard said. “ I raised more money than I anticipated.
The turnout was great, especially for the day after Christmas. We had approximately 75 people attend. I was happy that so many of my friends, hockey teammates and parents were able to attend.”Bouchard was originally inspired to host the event as part of his Life Skills class, where he had to complete a service-learning project under the direction of Mrs. Petrucci. An avid hockey player, Bouchard recently had both of his feet operated on at Boston Children's Hospital. Now back on the ice, Bouchard wanted to give back to the sport he loves and Children's Hospital with the holiday skate.- See more at: http://middleton.wickedlocal.com/article/20150108/Sports/150107253#sthash.yc34HBJL.dpuf
