Tim Sweeney
Boston-born Tim Sweeney played in college for Boston College (1985–89). He Led the Eagles in scoring his senior year with 73 points as the team advanced to the NCAA Championship quarterfinals.
He was selected 122nd overall in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft by the Calgary Flames. In his first year after college, the 1989–90 season, he won the International Hockey League's Ken McKenzie Trophy for Rookie of the Year. Sweeney played Calgary Flames, the Boston Bruins, the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the New York Rangers in the NHL and played for the 1992 US Olympic team. He is a member of the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame. |
