Mike Mottau
Mike Mottau was drafted in the seventh round by the New York Rangers in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
After playing four years at Thayer Academy, Mike went on to play four years of college hockey at Boston College. In 2000 he was the recipient of the prestigious Hobey Baker Award for top men’s collegiate hockey player during his senior season. Mike’s international experience includes National 16, 17 and World Junior Teams as well as World Championships in ‘99, ‘00 and ‘03. Over a fourteen year career Mike played in a total of 847 games between the AHL and NHL. Mike has been inducted into both Thayer’s Hall of Fame (2006) and Boston College’s Varsity Club Hall of Fame (2015). |
