The Bruins team was the National Hockey League's first expansion team, becoming a franchise in 1924,
and the first NHL team in the United States. Through the years the team has had a proud heritage, winning the Stanley Cup
in 1929, 1939, 1941 and most recently, in 1970 and 1972.
The Bruins Alumni hockey team was started in 1968 by the late publicist, Herb Ralby. Down through
the years the Boston Bruins team, the Alumni Association and Bruins Management have been goodwill
ambassadors throughout New England.
Our Alumni Association has raised more than $5 million for local charities and youth hockey programs.
It is through the support, generosity and interest of you and our sponsors that we have been able to
achieve that goal.
